Joharilal Export

Joharilal Export is located at 1035 Singhji Ka Rasta. If you’ve never been to Singhji Ka Rasta, it’s one of those narrow streets that always feels like something is happening. Our place is number 1035. It’s an old-style building with high ceilings, which is nice when it’s hot outside. We handle a lot of different goods for export. There’s usually a stack of crates near the entrance waiting for the tempo to arrive. We don’t have a lot of space, so we have to be organized. Joharilal has been around for a bit, and we’ve seen the neighbors come and go. The walls are painted a dull white, and we’ve got calendars from three years ago still hanging up because nobody bothered to take them down. We use a lot of tape and brown paper every day. The sound of the market outside comes right through the walls, so it’s never really quiet here. We take our breaks when we can, usually standing out by the door to get some fresh air. It’s a lot of manual work, checking lists and labels. We don’t use any fancy software for everything; a lot of it is still done with a pen and a ledger. That’s just how we like to keep track of things at 1035. It works for us and keeps the business moving forward through the busy Rasta.
