We are at No.- 35Avasudev Puri, which is very close to the Adarsh Vidya Mandir School. Monika Furniture is a place where we spend a lot of time surrounded by wood and sawdust. The shop is not huge, so we have to stack things up to make room for working. You can usually hear the sound of saws or hammers from down the street. It is a messy job, and our clothes are always covered in fine dust by the evening. We have been in this spot for a few years now. The school nearby means there are lots of kids and parents walking past in the mornings and afternoons. Sometimes they stop to look at what we are building. We do not have a showroom with bright lights. Most of our stuff is just sitting there in various stages of being finished. We use simple tools and our hands for most of the work. The floor is concrete and can get quite cold in the winter months. We have a small corner where we keep our lunch tiffins and a water bottle. It is not a polished business. We just make things out of wood and hope people find them useful. Being near Vasudev Puri is nice because it is a quiet residential area away from the main highway. We just keep our heads down and focus on the wood in front of us. Every piece is a little different and that is how we like it.
