Our shop is at S-4 Barkat Nagar, in the Joshi Colony area near Tonk Phatak. It’s an interesting mix because we sell a lot of plastic household items along with the gift stuff. So you might see a stack of plastic buckets right next to a row of birthday photo frames. It’s practical, I guess, because people often need a new mug or a container when they’re out shopping for a present. The shop is a bit cramped because plastic goods take up so much space, but we manage to fit it all in. Tonk Phatak is a busy area, so we get people stopping by on their way home from work. The floor is usually a bit cluttered with boxes that just arrived, and I’m always moving things around to make more room. We don’t have a fancy computer system for the inventory, we just look at the shelves and see what’s missing. My family has been doing this for a while, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. We keep the shop open late most nights because that’s when most of the workers come by to pick up things they need for their houses. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy bags of plastic and arranging the gift displays, but it keeps us busy. We just try to have a bit of everything so local people don't have to go too far.
