Indian Kangan & Colour Store

Indian Kangan & Colour Store is located at 351 Tripoliya Bazar. If you have been to the bazar, you know it is one of the most crowded places in the city. There is always someone shouting or a rickshaw bell ringing right outside. We sell bangles and different kinds of colors. The shelves are bright with all the different shades, which is the best part of the shop. It is a very old building, number 351, and the walls are thick. We have been here for a long time, watching the market change. The space is narrow, like most shops in Tripoliya Bazar, so it feels a bit tight when there are more than three customers. We keep the kangan in boxes stacked up high. Sometimes it takes a while to find the exact color someone wants. My hands are usually stained with a bit of dye by the end of the day. It is hard work being in the market all day with the heat and the noise. We don't have air conditioning, just a small fan that blows the hot air around. Still, it is home for us. People come from all over for the festivals to get their colors. We just keep the doors open and wait for the next person to walk in. The floor is made of old stone and it stays a little cooler than the street. It is a very busy life here.
