Hamari Hunarshala Private Limited is based at Survey No. 2/476 in Tila Kachi Basti. The name basically means our workshop of skills, and that is exactly what we are. We work right in the heart of the community here. The area is quite crowded and the houses are close together, but there is a lot of energy. We don't have a fancy office building. Our space is just a simple room where we gather to teach different crafts and skills to the local people. It can get a bit loud with the kids playing outside and the general noise of the basti, but we don't mind it. We started this because we wanted to give people a way to earn a living with their hands. Most of the staff live just a few streets away. We aren't an international corporation with big goals. We are just local folks trying to make things a little better for our neighbors. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint and the furniture is a bit worn out, but it works for what we need. We don't follow a strict corporate schedule. If someone needs help, we stay late to finish the work. It’s a very personal way of doing things. We don't have any big marketing plans. We just rely on the community knowing we are here and seeing the work we do with our own hands.
