Gift Centre

The shop has been here at A-162 Modi Nagar for a while now. Most people know us because we’re right near Purani Chungi on Ajmer Road. It’s a busy spot with cars going by all day. We opened Gift Centre because there wasn't much around this side of the road for finding a quick present. It’s mostly just me and sometimes a helper. We keep the shelves stocked with whatever we think looks okay, mostly things for kids’ birthdays or small family functions. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty with the road traffic outside, but we try to keep it tidy enough. People stop in when they're on their way home from work. Usually, they’re in a hurry. I try to find what they need fast so they can get back to their commute. The building isn't anything fancy, just a standard spot in the neighborhood. We’ve seen the area change a lot over the years. More shops have opened up nearby, but we just keep doing our thing. It’s quiet in the mornings, then picks up after four. I spend a lot of time just organizing the boxes or chatting with the regulars who live in the colony behind us. It isn't a huge operation, just a local business trying to stay busy. We don’t have any big signs, just the name above the door. If you’re driving down Ajmer Road, you might miss it if you aren’t looking. That’s just how it is here. Sometimes the neighbor from the next shop over comes by for tea. We talk about how the road is always under repair.
