Flying Machine

Our spot, Flying Machine, is located at G-23/24 in Crystal Court, over in Malviya Nagar near the Jaipur G P O. Being in a mall like Crystal Court means our day usually follows the mall schedule, so we are here from late morning until late evening. It is quite different from being on a regular street because we have the air conditioning and the bright mall lights all day long. Most of the time, we are busy unpacking new arrivals or tagging things so they are ready for the floor. Jaipur gets incredibly hot, so a lot of people come into the mall just to escape the sun, and some of them end up wandering into our shop. We spend a lot of time talking to each other and making sure the displays look decent. We don’t have a big fancy office; our workspace is basically the counter and the small storage room in the back where we keep the extra stock. It gets a bit cramped back there when a big shipment arrives. Sometimes the music from the other shops is a bit loud, but you get used to it after a few weeks. The staff here is small, and we all know how to handle everything from the register to the cleaning. It’s a practical way to work, and it keeps things simple for us and the people who visit. It is a steady way to spend the day.
