Computer World

Shyam Nagar is a nice part of Jaipur to be in. My shop, Computer World, is at G-3 Janpath. It is a decent-sized space, though it feels smaller once you get all the boxes and cables in there. I have been on Janpath for a while and I know the other shopkeepers pretty well. We usually stand out front in the mornings and talk about how hot it is going to get. Jaipur summers are no joke, and I have to keep the cooling running constantly so the machines don't act up. Inside, I have things set up so there is a clear path to the back desk. It is not a fancy layout. I just put things where they fit. I get a lot of students and people working from home who stop in because they need something quickly. I don't do much in the way of decoration. There are a few stacks of old magazines in the corner and a calendar on the wall that is usually a month behind. I like the routine of it. Opening up, checking the mail, and seeing who stops by. It's a solid place to work. I don't feel the need to make it look like a big corporate office. It's just my shop in Shyam Nagar where I handle whatever comes through the door. I have some extra lightbulbs in the drawer just in case one of them flickers out during a busy afternoon.
