Chawala Hardware

Chawala Hardware is located at Raja Park 96. It’s a neighborhood shop where we sell things for the home, like door handles, paint, and basic tools. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed compared to the bigger markets. We have our regulars who live nearby and come in when something in their house breaks. The shop is filled with the smell of new metal and sometimes a bit of paint fumes. We have rows of drawers that hold everything from tiny washers to heavy-duty bolts. It takes a while to learn where everything is kept. We don't do any flashy advertising or anything like that. People just know where we are. The front of the shop is usually open to the street, so we see everyone walking their dogs or going to the nearby stores. Sometimes we sit on a stool out front when things are slow and just watch the traffic in Raja Park. The walls are lined with pegboards holding various tools that have gathered a bit of dust over time. We just try to keep things organized enough so we can help the next person who walks in. It’s a steady kind of life, running a hardware store in a place like this and making sure the shelves are stocked with what the local neighbors might need during the week.
