Battery Point

If you head into the Jhotwara Industrial Area and look for 60 H, you’ll find us. We’re right in the middle of all the factories and warehouses. It’s a dusty part of town, and there’s always a truck backing up or a horn honking nearby. At Battery Point, we spend most of our time surrounded by lead, acid, and heavy plastic casings. It’s heavy work. Your hands stay dirty no matter how much you wash them, and we usually have a few old batteries sitting in the corner waiting to be recycled. The shop isn’t much to look at. We’ve got some metal shelving and a desk that’s seen better days. But it works for us. Most of the guys here have been working with batteries for years, so we know the smell of a bad cell from a mile away. We don’t have fancy air conditioning, so in the summer, we just keep the big door open and hope for a breeze. People come in mostly because they’re stuck or need a replacement fast. We don't do much talking other than what's needed for the job. We just check the voltage, swap the units, and send them on their way. It’s a straightforward life in Jhotwara. We close up when the sun goes down and do it all over again the next morning. There is always something that needs charging or lifting.
