Base Institute

Being inside the Cross Road Mall at Vidhyadhar Nagar makes things a bit different than a standalone building. We are at F 17, which isn't hard to find once you get past the main entrance. Most people know the Modi Furnitures nearby, so we just tell them to look for that. The mall has its own rhythm, with the cleaners mopping the floors early in the morning and the shops slowly opening up. Our space is compact but we manage to fit everything we need. The glass front lets in some light from the hallway, though it’s mostly artificial lights inside. We spend a lot of time at Base Institute just sitting behind the main desk, answering the phone or talking to parents who drop by after doing their shopping. The air conditioning in the mall helps during June, which is a relief. Sometimes the noise from the food court or other shops drifts in, but usually, it stays quiet enough to get work done. We keep some chairs out front for people waiting. It's a bit of a walk from the parking lot, especially if it's crowded on weekends. We have a couple of rooms for the classes and a small corner for keeping files. It’s not a huge setup, just a practical one that works for us. We just keep things moving, making sure the rooms are ready for the next group coming in and the registers are updated.
