Shital Kumar & Sons

Our shop, Shital Kumar & Sons, is down in the basement of Pushpanjli Market. It’s shop number 144, tucked away in the backside of Bapu Bazaar in Mohali. It’s not the easiest place to find if you’re new to the market, but the locals know where we are. We’ve been running things from this basement for years. It’s a bit cramped with all the boxes and stock, but we make it work. My sons and I handle most of the daily stuff. It’s a family thing, really. Bapu Bazaar is always lively, so there’s a lot of energy around us, even if we are a level down. We don’t spend much on decorations or making the place look like a mall store. It’s practical. We have what people need, and we keep our prices where they should be. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty with all the traffic in the market, but that's just how it is here. People stop by to chat as much as they do to buy things. We know most of our customers by name. It’s a small-town feel even though Mohali has grown so much lately. We just keep doing what we know how to do. There is no point in complicating things when people just want a good deal and a friendly face. We plan to stay in this basement for a long time yet and keep things running as they are.
