We are located at E-324 on Road No. 16 in the V.K.I. Area. That is the Vishwakarma Industrial Area, so it is mostly factories and warehouses all around us. Bairathi Shoe has been in this industrial zone for a long time. It’s a loud place because of all the machines running in the nearby units. Our own space is filled with the sounds of production too. We are always moving crates of shoes around and trying to stay on top of the schedule. The building is a big concrete structure that gets pretty hot in the summer, so we have a few big fans blowing all the time. It’s not a place for visitors to come and relax. It is a place for work. We don’t have a fancy lobby or any marketing brochures sitting around. Most of the people working here have been with us for years and they know the routine by heart. We get the raw materials in at the back and the finished shoes go out the front. It’s a simple process but it takes a lot of effort to keep it running smoothly. Sometimes we have issues with the power or the machines break down, but we just fix them and keep going. We don’t spend much time worrying about how the office looks. We just care about getting the shoes out on time. It is a noisy, busy place but we are used to it.
