Anita Ayuvedic Store

Anita Ayuvedic Store is right in the middle of Kotputli Bazar. If you’ve ever walked through the market here, you know how it is—packed with people and all sorts of smells from the different shops. We are right there among the other local sellers. Our shop isn't very big, but we have shelves lined with all sorts of jars and packets. I usually open up early in the morning when the bazaar is just starting to wake up and the sweepers are cleaning the street. It’s a nice time of day before the real heat and the crowds arrive. Throughout the day, people come in from the surrounding villages and the town itself. They usually know what they want, but sometimes they just want to talk for a bit. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights, just a simple counter and the products we have been selling for years. It’s a bit of an old-fashioned way to run a store, but it’s what people in Kotputli expect. The bazaar can get very noisy with the bikes and the calling out of vendors, but inside it’s a bit more peaceful. We spend a lot of time just organizing the stock and making sure everything is where it should be. It is a long day sitting in the shop, but we are part of the community here and we see the same faces week after week. It’s just a regular life in a busy market.
