Agarwal Provision Store

Being on the Mansarovar Main Road at 112/562 means we are right in the middle of everything. Agarwal Provision Store is basically where the locals come to get their daily groceries like flour, lentils, and spices. We have large sacks sitting near the entrance and the shelves are filled with jars of snacks and soaps. It is a family-run shop and there is usually at least two of us behind the counter to handle the morning rush. The bells on the door ring constantly as people nip in for a loaf of bread or some milk on their way to work. We don't have fancy scanners or a loyalty program; we just write down what people owe in a small notebook if they forgot their wallet. The floor is swept every morning but the dust from the main road always finds its way back in by lunchtime. We have a small fridge for the cold drinks and curd which is always popular when the heat gets bad. It is a simple way to make a living and we enjoy hearing the neighborhood gossip while we weigh out the sugar and dal. The light comes in through the front window and hits the stacks of biscuit packets in a nice way during the afternoon. We stay open pretty late so that people can grab things after their offices close.
