S K General Store

The shop is right in Gangouri Bazar near the Gandhi Market area. It is always crowded around here especially in the mornings when everyone is out getting their groceries and household stuff. We keep a bit of everything on the wooden shelves like soaps and biscuits and those little packets of spices. It gets quite cramped when two or three people come in at once because the counter is not that big. I have been sitting here for years now and I know most of the people who walk past the door every day. Some stop for a cigarette or just to complain about how hot it is getting this year. We get our supplies from the main distributors every few days so there are always sacks of rice or flour sitting on the floor waiting to be moved. The fan in the corner makes a clicking sound but it keeps the air moving at least. Sometimes kids come in after school for candies and they take forever to choose just one thing. It makes the day go by. We don't have a big sign or anything but everyone around the bazaar knows where we are. It is just a simple place to get your daily house stuff without having to go to the big supermarkets. The hours are long but that is part of running a store in a place like this. We stay open until the market starts to quiet down at night.
