If you go to the New Anaj Mandi in Chandpole Bazar you will find us at unit C 12. It is a very loud and dusty place because of all the grain and trucks moving through the gates. We start our day very early before the sun is even up properly. That is when the action happens at the mandi. There are sacks of grain everywhere and people shouting to get things moved to the right place. Our office is just a small room with some plastic chairs and an old wooden desk. We have a lot of samples of different crops lying around in small bowls or on the floor. It is not a clean or quiet job by any means. Your clothes usually end up covered in dust by lunch time. We deal with many different farmers and traders throughout the long day. Some days are very slow and we just sit and drink tea while looking out at the main gates. Other days we don't even have time to eat our lunch. We have been at this location for a long time so we know all the other traders nearby. The phone rings a lot with people asking about prices for the day. We just tell them the numbers we have and move on. It is a tough business but it is what we know. We don't have any fancy technology here just the basics to keep the accounts straight.
