Sharma Fabricators

Down here in Village Kanganwal, things move at their own pace. We're situated near Jugiana on the Chandigarh Road, right in the Ludhiana district. Sharma Fabricators is basically a workshop where we spend most of our waking hours. If you head towards Samrala, you'll pass right by us. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside, just a lot of steel beams and welding equipment. We do a lot of cutting and joining here. The air always smells a bit like burnt metal and ozone, which is something you get used to after the first week of working here. My father started this and now we just keep it going as best as we can. It’s hard work on the hands and the back, but we like seeing a raw pile of metal turn into something useful. We don't have a receptionist or a big lobby. Usually, you just walk in and find someone near the back with a mask on. We try to be fair with everyone who comes through the door. Sometimes the power goes out or the delivery truck is late, and we just deal with it. Ludhiana is a busy place for manufacturing, and being out here near the road helps us get stuff shipped out without too much fuss. It’s a quiet village mostly, except for when the saws are running. We're just here doing our bit every single day.
