The Beauty Era

Our place is on the ground floor of Sukhsagar Apartment in the Rambagh area of Indore. We are quite close to Dadawadi, so it is a landmark most people around here recognize. The shop is right at the front of the building, which makes it easy to walk in from the street. We have been in this neighborhood for a while now and we know many of the families who live in the apartments nearby. The space is simple with just the basic stuff you would expect to see in a beauty shop. We have our mirrors and stools and the various bottles we use for work. It is a very local feel here. You can hear the sounds of the street and the people talking outside. We don't have a fancy reception or a corporate way of doing things. We just open up in the morning and see who comes through the door. Sometimes it is very busy with several people waiting and other times it is just us cleaning up. The floor is plain and we try to keep it neat throughout the day. We spend a lot of time talking about everyday things with the ladies who come in. It is just a normal part of the Rambagh community. We like being on the ground floor because we can see everything that is going on outside. It makes the day go by a bit faster.
