Ratilal & Sons

We are over at 7 C in Kailash Park Colony. Being near the H P Petroleum station makes it easy for people to find us when they are out getting fuel for their scooters. Ratilal & Sons has been a family thing for a long time. My father started it, and now we just keep it going. Indore is a growing place, but this corner of 452001 feels like its own little village. The shop is full of all kinds of household goods. Big bags of rice and flour sit right on the floor. It’s not the most modern looking place, but it works for us. We spend most of our mornings checking what needs to be ordered for the next day. The shelves are made of old wood and they creak a bit when we restock them. No fancy uniforms are worn here. We just wear our regular clothes and get to work. Sometimes the kids from the colony come in for sweets after school. We know most of the parents too. It is a quiet life for the most part. No big promotions or ads are ever done. We just open the shutters in the morning and close them at night. If someone needs credit for a few days, we usually know them well enough to say yes. It is just a neighborhood store. Enough of everything is kept so people don't leave empty-handed. My hands stay dusty.
