Rahar Hair Style is sitting right on 22/3 Patni Pura Main Road in Indore. It’s a busy spot because we are right near Aastha Cinema. On Friday when a new movie comes out, the whole street gets packed with people and it’s hard to even find a place to park a bike. We see a lot of different faces every day. Some people just want a quick trim and others want something they saw a movie star wearing. The shop stays open pretty late most nights. We have the usual chairs and mirrors that have seen better days but they work fine. Sometimes the dust from the main road gets inside so we are always sweeping. It’s a local place where guys come to hang out and talk while they wait their turn. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us working the chairs. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years. Some businesses come and go but we’ve managed to stay put. The tea shop around the corner is where we get our morning drinks. It’s not a quiet job because of the horns honking outside and the music from the cinema area, but we are used to it by now. We just focus on the hair and making sure nobody leaves looking messy. It’s straightforward work. We don’t bother with fancy decorations or anything like that because the work is what matters for the folks in Patni Pura.
