O P Khandelwal & Company sits right on Jawahar Marg. The building is called Chemical House, and we are on the second floor, or the Lind floor as some of the old signs say. Jawahar Road is always packed with vehicles and people, so it gets quite loud during the middle of the day. You can hear the horns honking from the street all the way up here at number 61. We have been in this spot for a good while. The stairs up to the office are a bit narrow, and you have to watch your step. Inside, we have our shelves filled with old records and current files. It’s a typical Indore office environment. We don't have those modern glass walls or anything like that. Just solid walls and a few ceiling fans that keep the air moving when it gets hot outside. Most of the time, we are just busy with the daily tasks. We take our breaks when we can, maybe grabbing a snack from one of the vendors on the street below. Being in the 452001 area means everything is close by, which is convenient for us. The office feels lived-in because we spend so many hours here every week. It is a practical space for the kind of work we do. We just keep our heads down and handle the business as it comes. It’s a bit dusty sometimes because of the road construction, but that’s just life here.
