Monika Stores

Monika Stores is at No. 69 in Neelkanth Colony. We’re pretty close to Jinsi Chouraha, which is where most of the action happens around here. Our shop is a familiar sight for the people living in the colony. We open up early and start the day by sweeping the front step and cleaning the glass. The morning sun hits the windows just right for an hour or so before it moves behind the other buildings. Inside, it’s a bit of a mix of everything. We have shelves lining all the walls, mostly filled with the usual stuff people need for their homes. It’s not a giant supermarket, just a local store where we know almost everyone who walks through the door. We spend a lot of time restocking the items and making sure everything is in its place. It gets a bit crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work and stops by for a few things. We have a small counter where we handle the payments and chat with the neighbors. Sometimes we have to move boxes around to make more room if a big delivery arrives on Tuesday. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s not really a priority right now. We just want to keep things running smoothly. It’s a lot of standing and walking around the small space. We have a small wooden stool for when things get quiet. It is just a normal life.
