Monark Hair Dresser

Monark Hair Dresser has been operating out of this spot at 76 Ushaganj Chawni for years. We are very close to the GPO in Indore, so there’s always people walking around and plenty of activity. Our shop is one of those old-school places where you come for a quick shave or a standard haircut. We have the traditional chairs and the big mirrors that have been there since we opened. It’s not a fancy place with air conditioning and soft music, just a local spot where men come to get cleaned up. We see a lot of the same faces every two or three weeks. The morning hours are usually the busiest because people want to look sharp before they go to work. We keep our tools clean and our razors sharp. There is always a stack of newspapers for people to read while they wait. Sometimes the shop feels a bit small when three people are waiting, but we try to move as fast as we can without rushing the work. We talk about the weather or how the local market is doing while we work. It’s a comfortable, familiar place for the neighborhood. We don't do anything too crazy with styles, just the classic cuts that people in this part of Indore have always liked. We have been here a long time now and like it.
