Jaipal Kataria

Jaipal Kataria is my name, and you can find me at 3, Indira Square. If you’ve spent any time in Indore, you know Indira Square is a pretty busy junction. There’s always something going on outside—horns honking, people rushing to catch buses, and the general hum of the city. My office is right in the middle of all that. It’s a small space, but it serves its purpose. I’ve been here for several years now, and the walls are covered with files and books I’ve collected over time. I don't really go for the modern, minimalist look you see in those new offices downtown. This place feels like it has some history. Being at a major square means I get a lot of walk-ins, people who were just passing by and realized they needed to see someone. I spend my day talking to people from all walks of life. Some are in a big hurry, and some want to sit and talk for an hour. I try to accommodate everyone, though it isn't always easy. The tea stall nearby is where I get my midday break, and usually, someone will stop me there to ask for advice too. That’s just part of being a local figure. The office can get a bit dusty because of the traffic outside, so we’re always cleaning. It’s not a perfect place, but it’s where I work and I’m used to the rhythm of this square.
