Islamia Karimia College

Down here in Old Plasia, Indore, things stay pretty moving all day long. Islamia Karimia College is situated right at No. 2 / 2, and if you know the area, you know it’s a central spot. The college has been part of the neighborhood for a long while. It’s a big building, but it feels a bit old-fashioned inside which some people like. We have students coming in for all sorts of classes. The hallways are long and sometimes the echo of footsteps is the only thing you hear when lectures are going on. Outside, the traffic on the main road is always there, honking and such, but you get used to it after a week or two. We don't have those fancy glass walls or air-conditioned lobbies like the new corporate offices popping up in Indore. It’s mostly just brick, mortar, and a lot of old wooden benches that have seen many years of students. The staff here is mostly local people who have lived in Madhya Pradesh their whole lives. We keep a small canteen where the tea is always hot, though the snacks run out fast if you aren’t quick. It’s a practical place for people who want to study without all the extra fluff. We just open the gates in the morning and do our jobs until it’s time to head home in the evening. There are a lot of colleges in Indore but this one is ours.
