Ekirana

Our place, Ekirana, is located at 134 Dr. Ambedkar Nagar in Indore. It’s right in the middle of the neighborhood, so it feels like a regular part of the street here in MP. We aren’t one of those big fancy supermarkets you see in the malls. It’s just a local spot where we keep things simple and try to have what people are looking for. The shop isn't huge, but we make use of every inch of space on the shelves and even some of the floor for the bigger sacks. Living and working in Indore, you get used to the pace of the city, and Ambedkar Nagar has its own rhythm. We see the same faces every day, which is nice. Sometimes the morning gets a bit hectic when the deliveries arrive and we have to stack everything up while customers are coming in. The floor is just plain concrete and the lighting is basic, but it works for us. We don't spend much time on decorations because we are too busy checking the stock and helping people find what they need. It gets a bit crowded when the school nearby lets out, but mostly it’s just the usual flow of the day. We try to keep things organized as best as we can, though sometimes the boxes pile up. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living, just being here and keeping the doors open for the locals.
