Our place is at Plot No.129/47 in New Agarwal Nagar. We just call the business Farmer because that is what we are and what we do. It’s a residential area mostly, but we’ve got our setup here for handling the business side of things. We deal with a lot of different crops depending on what's in season. Sometimes it’s onions, other times it’s grain or seeds. It’s not a corporate office with desks and chairs, it’s more of a workspace where we sort things out and talk to buyers. My father started this years ago and I took over after I finished school. We don’t have fancy brochures to show people. We just show them the actual product in the sacks. The neighbors are used to the trucks coming in by now, though we try to keep the noise down in the mornings so we don't bother anyone. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking the weather reports on the radio. Sometimes the market prices are good, sometimes they are terrible, but we keep going regardless. We keep our records in big ledgers by hand because it feels more real that way. New Agarwal Nagar has changed a lot since we moved in, but our plot stays pretty much the same. We just want to do honest work and get the produce to people who need it without making things complicated. Most of my day is spent on my feet, moving between the storage area and the gate.
