Boss Spices

Boss Spices is located over in Palda, right near the Tol Kata. If you know Palda, you know it’s a big hub for trucks and transport. Being near the weighbridge means there are always heavy vehicles rumbling past our front door. It’s a dusty place, and the air is often thick with the smell of diesel and spices mixed together. We work out of a plain building that is more about function than looks. Inside, we have our grinders and the packaging area. We deal with a lot of bulk spices, so there are always stacks of gunny bags piled up against the walls. The work is physically demanding because we are constantly lifting and moving these heavy loads. Sometimes the chili powder we are grinding gets into the air and everyone starts sneezing at once. It’s just one of the hazards of the job. We don't have any corporate structure or anything like that. It’s just a small group of us making sure the machines are running and the orders are going out on time. We use a simple desk to keep track of our paperwork and we spend a lot of time talking to the truck drivers who come through. It’s a rough and ready kind of business, but it suits the area we are in. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily grind without much fuss.
