Ashutosh Hair Dresser is sitting right at 435, Dwarkapuri, on the 60 Feet Road in Indore. If you know this part of Indore, you know how much traffic passes by on that 60 Feet Road every single day. The dust from the road usually finds its way inside the shop, so I am always dusting off the counters and the small shelf where I keep the razors. It is a small space but it is enough for what we do. I have been cutting hair here and watching the neighborhood change over the years. Some days are very slow and I just sit by the door and watch the trucks go by, and other days there is a line of people out the door. We do not have any fancy air conditioning or anything like that, just a couple of sturdy fans that keep the air moving. My customers are mostly men from Dwarkapuri who want a quick shave or a trim. They usually talk about their work or what is happening in the news. I do not use any complicated machines, just my hands and the tools I have had for a long time. The shop is 452001 area, so it feels like the heart of the old working part of the city. I do not plan on changing much about how the place looks. It is just a regular hair dresser shop for regular people.
