Anand Gents Parlour

My shop is located at Shop No.9 on Rajiv Awas Vihar Road, which is right in the Vijay Nagar area of Indore. Being so close to Astha Hospital means there are always people moving around outside. I opened Anand Gents Parlour a few years back because I knew the area was growing. It is a simple setup with the basic tools you need for a decent haircut. I don't go in for those expensive treatments you see in the big malls. Most of my customers are just working men from the neighborhood who want to look tidy. The shop is small and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it works for us. I spend a lot of time sharpening my razors and making sure the towels are clean. Sometimes the traffic on the road gets really loud, so we have to talk a bit louder inside. It is not a quiet place, but it’s a friendly one. I usually have the radio on in the background, playing whatever is on the local station. People stop in to say hello even if they don't need a haircut that day. There is no big secret to what I do; I just show up every morning and wait for the first customer. It is a living, and it keeps me busy enough throughout the day. The afternoon sun hits the front window, so it gets a bit warm, but we have a good fan.
