Amar Law Publication

Amar Law Publication is based in the Rampurawala Building on M G Road. We have shops 70 and 71, which we use to keep all our stock and do our daily work. Being on M G Road means there is a lot of foot traffic and the building itself has a lot of history to it. The shops are filled to the ceiling with books and publications. Sometimes it feels like there is more paper than floor space. We spend a lot of our time packing orders and making sure the right books go to the right people. It's a lot of physical work, lifting heavy boxes and climbing ladders to reach the top shelves. The light from the street comes in through the front, but the back of the shop stays pretty dark. We have a routine of checking the new arrivals and sorting them by year or subject. It's not a fancy place with new furniture; our desks are old and the floors are worn down from all the walking. We usually have a lot of tea and talk about the news while we work. The sounds of the traffic on M G Road are always there, but we’ve learned to ignore them after so many years. It’s just a busy, dusty shop where we keep ourselves occupied with the law books and the daily tasks of running a business. We stay here until late most evenings getting things ready for the next day.
