Yellamma Engineering Works

If you walk past the fish market in Fathenagar, you’ll hear the noise from our shop before you see it. We are Yellamma Engineering Works, located at H No 10-1-1/2. It’s a gritty part of Balanagar, but it suits the kind of work we do. There is always metal being cut or welded, so it gets pretty hot inside. We don’t mind the heat much anymore. The shop has been here for a good while, and the walls are covered in grease and dust from years of projects. It’s not a place for a suit and tie. Most days, we’re covered in oil by noon. The neighbors know us well, and we help out with small repairs whenever someone stops by. It’s a tight space, so we have to be careful where we step. Sometimes we have to move stuff out onto the pavement just to make room to work on a bigger piece. We don't use any fancy computer systems. Just a notebook to keep track of who owes what and what needs to be delivered by Friday. It’s practical, hard work. No one here is trying to impress anyone with big words. We just fix things that are broken and build things that need building. That’s the long and short of it. The market nearby keeps the area lively and there is always something going on.
