The shop is right here on Post Office Line, just a few doors down from the Modern Function Hall. We spend most of our days surrounded by the smell of ink and the constant rhythmic sound of the printing presses. It gets pretty loud in here sometimes when we have a big stack of wedding cards or some pamphlets to get through before the weekend. Most people know us because they stop by on their way to the post office. There is usually a pile of paper scraps in the corner and someone is always drinking tea near the front counter. We started out with just one machine and it took up half the space in this small shop at Shop No. 2. Now things are a bit more crowded but it works for us. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit on the plastic stools outside until it comes back on. It’s not fancy, just a workplace where we handle what people need printed. We use these heavy metal cutters that make a satisfying thud every time they go through a stack of paper. The walls have some old calendars hanging on them and there is dust on the top shelves that we never really get around to cleaning. People come in with their files on pendrives or sometimes just a rough sketch on a piece of paper. We just take a look and get started on it. It’s been like this for years now.
