Tara Hardware Mart

Tara Hardware Mart is over at 5-5-8/2 in Ranigunj. We’ve been situated here for years, watching the neighborhood change around us. It’s a small shop, but we try to cram in as much as we can on the shelves. Hardware is one of those things where you never know what someone is going to ask for next. One minute it’s a specific type of nail, and the next it’s something much bigger. We do our best to keep the basics in stock. The street outside is always crowded with cycles, rickshaws, and people carrying loads. It can be a bit much if you aren't used to it. Inside, it’s a little quieter, though we usually have the radio on or people chatting. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in the city. We just want to be the place where people can come and get what they need without a lot of trouble. Our counter is worn down from years of use, and the floors aren't perfectly level, but it’s home to us. We know our regulars by name and they know us. It’s that kind of place. We don't do much advertising. People usually find us because they were told to come here or they just happened to be walking by. It’s a simple way to run a business, and it’s worked for us so far in Ranigunj. We just keep the doors open daily.
