Sun Engineering Company

We have been operating Sun Engineering Company out of 138 R P Road for quite some time now. Being right near the Bible House makes it easy for folks to find us in this busy part of town. The shop isn't anything fancy to look at, just a practical space where we get our hands dirty every day. There is usually a layer of dust on the shelves and the smell of machine oil in the air. We start our mornings early, unrolling the shutters and getting the lights on before the traffic on R P Road gets too loud. It’s a noisy street, but inside we just focus on the metalwork and the tasks at hand. Our benches are scarred from years of use, and the floor has those permanent oil stains you can't ever scrub out. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know where every wrench and bolt is kept. Sometimes the afternoon heat makes the shop feel a bit cramped, but we just keep the fans running and stay busy. People come by with all sorts of mechanical problems, and we do what we can to help them out. It’s a simple routine of measuring, cutting, and fixing things until it’s time to close up. We don't spend money on shiny signs or new paint because the work itself is what matters most to us. It’s just an honest way to make a living in this neighborhood.
