Plot No. 5 is our home. It's in the industrial estate in Kukatpally. We spend most of our time around machines and grease. It's not fancy. The sun hits the roof hard in the afternoon. We started here years ago. Prashanthi Nagar is just nearby, so we see the same faces every day. My desk is usually covered in papers and some small spare parts. We do engineering work, mostly fixing things or making parts that people need for their machines. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just sit outside for a bit. The tea guy comes around at four, and that's usually the best part of the day. It’s a lot of manual work. We don't have a big front office or anything like that. People just walk into the shed. Shaktipuram has changed a lot since we moved in. More buildings have come up, but our plot stays about the same. We keep things running as long as we can. It gets loud when everything is switched on at once, but we're used to it. The floor is concrete and has some cracks here and there. We just focus on the job at hand. It's a simple life here in the industrial area. We don't worry about being fancy. We’ve had some of the same guys working here since the beginning, and that makes the days go by easier. It’s just us doing what we know how to do. Nothing more to it.
