Our business sits right beside the Shivalayam in Subhash Nagar, Jeedimetla. Being at Plot No 763 means we can hear the temple bells throughout the day, which is a nice change from the usual industrial sounds. We do a lot of packaging work here, mostly involving cardboard boxes, plastic wraps, and various filling materials. The warehouse space is packed with stacks of flat-packed boxes reaching almost to the roof. We spend a lot of time counting out orders and making sure the bundles are tied up properly. It gets quite hectic when several orders come in at once and we have to find space to move the pallets. The floor is concrete and often gets scuffed from the heavy carts we use. We know the neighbors around Subhash Nagar pretty well, and people often stop by just to say hello or ask for a spare box. The lighting inside isn't the brightest, but it's enough to get the job done. Sometimes the tape machines jam up, or we run out of a certain size of bubble wrap, and we have to scramble to get more. We don't use any complicated systems, just some simple paperwork to keep track of what goes out the door. It is a basic operation run by people who have been doing this for a long time and know the ins and outs of the trade.
