Dheeraj Corrugators

Our factory is out in Dommora Pochompally Village, right on Plot 165 A and 166 A. It’s a bit of a drive out here in the Gandimaisamma area of R. R. District, but the space is necessary for what we do. We are right opposite the S. V. Model High School, so we hear the school bells and the kids during their breaks. We make corrugated boxes, which means we have large machines that take up a lot of room. The heat can get pretty intense inside the shed during the summer months, but we just keep the fans going and stay on task. It’s a lot of manual labor, moving heavy rolls of brown paper and stacking the finished boxes high up to the ceiling. We don't have a polished showroom; our workshop is basically just the sound of the rollers and the smell of the glue we use to hold the cardboard together. Most of the guys working here are from the nearby villages, and we’ve become a bit of a tight group over the years. We deal with a lot of dust and noise, but that’s the nature of making packaging. It’s a practical business, and we focus on getting the dimensions right so the boxes actually hold what they're supposed to. It’s not glamorous, but it is what we do for a living.
