Packtech

Packtech is located over at D-2 in the Moula-ali Industrial Estate. This part of the city has a very specific feel to it. It’s been an industrial hub for a long time, and you can see that in the older buildings and the way the roads are worn down by heavy trucks. Our unit is one of the many tucked into the estate. It’s a solid structure with high ceilings, which helps a bit with the heat during the summer months. We don't have much in the way of decoration. The walls are a bit stained from years of work, and the floors are concrete. There is always the sound of machinery coming from the units next to us, and the smell of oil and metal is pretty much constant. Most of us have been coming to this same spot for years, so we have a routine down. We start early before the sun gets too hot. The local tea seller knows exactly how many cups we need by mid-morning. It’s not a fancy office or a place for meetings with coffee machines. It’s a place where things are handled manually and people get their hands dirty. We keep our tools organized on the racks and try to make the most of the space we have. When the workday ends, we lock up the heavy metal shutters and head home like everyone else in Moula-ali.
