Southern Refrigeration

Southern Refrigeration is tucked away in the Varalakshmi Market Complex on M.G. Road. It's a really busy spot, especially on weekends when everyone is out shopping for clothes or food. We are at G-26. It’s a small space, mostly filled to the ceiling with spare parts and tools for cooling systems. I’ve been working here for many years and the market has changed a lot around us. We see all kinds of people coming in with broken fridges or looking for a very specific valve that nobody else has. M.G. Road is always crowded, so getting parts delivered can be a real headache with the traffic. Our shop isn't much to look at, just old wooden shelves and a scratched counter. We try to keep things organized but when it gets busy, boxes start piling up in the aisle. It’s mostly just us doing the daily grind. We know most of the other shop owners in the complex and we often grab tea together when things are quiet in the afternoon. People know where to find us if their cooling goes out at home. It gets pretty warm in the shop during the summer months, which is kind of funny given what we do. We don't have a website, just the phone and the front door. We've stayed in the same spot because it's central and easy for people to reach. If you walk past the main entrance of the complex, just keep going until you see our faded sign.
