We are located over at Plot No. 23 & 24 in Shakathipuram, which is part of the APIIC Extension in Prashanti Nagar. It’s a bit of a drive out to Kukatpally, but it’s where all the industrial action is. Smrj Engineers Pvt. Ltd. has a fairly large space here because we need the room for the equipment and the materials we handle. The workshop floor is usually covered in a bit of metal dust and the sound of grinding is pretty constant throughout the day. We don't have an air-conditioned lobby or a fancy entrance. You just walk through the main gate and you’re right where the work happens. The sun hits the metal roof in the afternoons and it can get quite hot, so we have these big industrial fans that hum all day long. We aren't the type of people to wear suits or sit in long meetings about strategy. We mostly wear work clothes and spend our time looking at machines or talking to the technicians. Prashanti Nagar is full of places like ours, so we fit right in with the rest of the neighborhood. We eat our lunch together in the small break area near the back of the plot. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We just make sure that every project leaving our gates is done properly and according to the specs we were given.
