Shyam Traders & General Stores

Shyam Traders & General Stores is tucked away in Moti Nagar, Hyderabad. We have been working out of this spot for a while now. The 500001 zip code covers a lot of ground, but we mostly see the folks living right around here. It is a general store, so we carry a bit of everything. You might see bags of rice stacked up near the entrance or some boxes of biscuits that just arrived. We aren't a big supermarket with bright lights. It’s just a regular shop where the floor might need a sweep by midday because of the dust from the street. We get busy in the mornings when everyone is getting their daily supplies. Then it gets a bit slow in the afternoon when it’s hot outside. We spend that time checking what needs to be ordered. Sometimes we chat with the delivery guys about the traffic in Hyderabad, which is always a mess. We don't do anything fancy here. If you need some sugar or a new broom, we probably have it somewhere on the shelves. Sometimes we lose the keys to a specific cabinet for a minute, but we always find them eventually. It takes a bit of work to keep track of all the small items, but we manage. People stop by for a quick chat while they buy their things. It’s just a normal part of the neighborhood. We stay open until fairly late most days.
