Working out here in Plot No. 159 at the Navodaya Industrial Estate means there is always a lot of dust and noise. Being near Phase 5 of Cherlapally, you see trucks moving in and out all day long, carrying all sorts of materials. Our place isn’t anything fancy to look at, just a practical shed where we get the manufacturing done. We deal with various products, and the work can be quite physical. There are days when the heat under the roof is almost too much, but the machines have to keep running so we just drink a lot of water and keep at it. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and making sure the settings on the equipment are just right. We don't have a front desk or anyone to answer phones; if someone wants to talk to us, they usually have to shout over the sound of the machines. Most of our neighbors are doing similar work, so there's a bit of a community here among the workers. We start our shift early to beat the worst of the afternoon sun. It’s a grind, for sure, but there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing a crate full of finished products ready to be moved out. We’ve been at this spot for a while now and we know the layout of this estate like the back of our hands. It's just honest work in a busy industrial part of town. Sometimes the deliveries are late, but we just adjust and keep moving forward.
