Samay Marketing operates out of the Papace Talkies Compound in Abids. The address is 4-1-834/A, which sounds complicated but it’s just how the buildings are numbered around here. The old cinema compound is a bit of a landmark in this part of town, and it has a lot of character that you don’t find in the newer glass buildings. Abids is always a hive of activity, with people buying books on the sidewalk and all the shops lined up one after another. Our office is tucked inside the compound, so it’s a little bit removed from the main road noise, though not entirely. The building itself feels like it has a lot of history behind it. Inside our space, things are pretty practical. We have some desks, some chairs, and a lot of files. It’s not a place where we worry much about the decor; it’s more about having a functional spot to meet and talk. We get a fair amount of foot traffic because of where we are located. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, which is just a common thing in this area, so we keep a few torches handy. It’s a very grounded way of working, and we like being part of the Abids community. It’s been our home for years and we know the tea stall guy and the other shopkeepers pretty well.
