If you head down the I.O.C.L Gas Godown Road in Keesara, you’ll find us at Plot No 64 in Sai Nagar Colony. We are right there in Rampally Village. It’s an area that’s developing fast, but it still has that rough, industrial edge to it. The sound of metal hitting metal is pretty much the soundtrack of our day here at Rk Engineering Works. It gets quite dusty because of all the trucks heading to the gas godown, so everything in the shop has a thin layer of grit on it. We don’t mind. My hands are usually covered in some kind of grease or oil by ten in the morning. We have a few big machines that take up most of the floor space, and you have to be careful where you walk so you don't trip over scraps. It’s not a quiet place to work, but it’s where we feel at home. The heat in the afternoon under the tin roof can be a lot, so we take plenty of breaks for water. We’ve been here for a bit now, helping out the local people and other businesses with whatever they need fixed or built. It’s practical work. No one wears a tie here. We just put on our boots and get to it. Sometimes we stay late if a machine is acting up or a job is taking longer than we thought. That’s just the nature of engineering.
