If you head down Road No. 7 in Somana Colony, you’ll find us at 6-2-112/A. We are Raja Rajeswari Precision Engg Works, and this shop has been my second home for a long time. Balanagar is a busy area for engineering, and we fit right in with the rest of the workshops on this street. The sound of lathes and milling machines is pretty much constant from morning until evening. It’s a dusty place with oil on the floor and metal shavings everywhere, but that’s just how a real machine shop looks. We take on all sorts of small jobs where someone needs a part made or fixed to a specific size. It takes a lot of patience to get the measurements just right, and sometimes we have to start over if something isn't perfect. We don't have a fancy website or a sales team. Most of our customers just walk in through the front door with a broken part in their hand or a rough drawing on a piece of paper. I spend a lot of my time hunched over the machines or talking to the guys about how to tackle a difficult piece of work. We keep a cooler of water in the corner because it gets very hot in here during the summer months. It is hard, greasy work, but there is a lot of satisfaction in seeing a finished part that fits exactly where it should.
