Rachamallu Forgings Pvt. Ltd. is located at Plot No. 86 in the CIE Expansion area of Gandhi Nagar, Bala Nagar. This is a proper industrial zone, so it’s never quiet around here. You can hear the sounds of machines and metal from pretty much every direction. We deal with forgings, which is heavy work. It’s hot and it’s loud, and you definitely can’t wear your nice clothes to work here. Our shop floor is the main part of the business. We have the office section too, but most of the action happens where the hammers and presses are. We’ve been in Bala Nagar for a long time. We know the other shop owners on the street. Sometimes we borrow tools or help each other out when a machine breaks down. It’s a hardworking environment. We don't have any fancy paintings on the walls or leather sofas. Just metal, oil, and people who know how to shape steel. The days are long and we usually end up covered in some kind of dust or grease by the time we lock up. We don't talk much about innovation or excellence. We just look at the drawings and make the parts as they are supposed to be made. It’s a tough business, but it’s what we know how to do here at Plot 86.
