Mohammed Ishaq Uddin Steel Furniture

Our workshop is at 17-8-343/6 in Chowni Nade Ali Baig, over in Yakutpura. The name on the sign says Mohammed Ishaq Uddin Steel Furniture. We spend our days working with metal, making chairs, cupboards, and benches. It's a lot of cutting, welding, and painting. The shop is always full of the smell of iron and fresh paint. Yakutpura is an old part of the city, and our street is usually pretty busy with people and cycles. We are not a factory; it is just a local workshop where we do things by hand. Sometimes we have a lot of orders and the floor is covered in steel pipes. Other times we are just working on a single piece for a neighbor. We have been here for a long time and everyone in Chowni Nade Ali Baig knows where to find us. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just focus on making things that last. If a hinge is loose or a shelf is crooked, we fix it. It is plain work, but we take it seriously. It can get very hot in the summer with the welding machines going, but that is part of the job. We are just local people making furniture for other local people. It is a simple life and we like being part of the community here. The work is steady and it keeps our hands busy all through the year.
