Our bakery is down in the Dariya Bagh area of Karwan Sahu, specifically at 13-4-610/A/F. It is near the Alawa Panch Bhai part of Hyderabad. We start our day very early, usually while most of the city is still asleep, to get the ovens heated up. The smell of baking bread and biscuits starts to fill the street as the sun comes up. It is a small shop, and it gets very hot inside once all the baking is in full swing. We have different types of local breads and some sweet items that we make every day. The counters are usually covered in flour by mid-morning. We don't have a fancy display case with lights, just some glass jars and trays where we put out what we’ve made. People from around the neighborhood come in for their morning tea snacks or to grab some bread for dinner. We have a few regular customers who have been coming here since we first opened the doors. The area can be quite crowded and the lanes are narrow, so getting our flour deliveries can be a bit of a struggle sometimes. We don't use any big machines, most of the work is done by hand, kneading the dough and shaping the loaves. It is a tiring job, standing on your feet all day near the heat, but we are used to it by now.
